A Fast and Slow Start to 2025
The first month of 2025 flew by—and dragged at the same time.
At the start of the year, I challenged myself to post on Instagram for 30 days straight to see if it would:
Drive growth to my YouTube channel.
Push me to create consistently.
I'll be honest—it was tough, but not as hard as I expected. Why? Because I quickly developed a system that made the process smoother. If you're curious about that system and how you can use it to build your personal brand, check out my latest YouTube video.e
This experiment helped me find a content style that feels authentic, is sustainable, and resonates with my audience.
YouTube Growth
So, did posting daily on Instagram help my YouTube channel? Here’s where I started vs. where I ended the month:
📈 Subscribers: 1,297 → 1,539
That’s solid growth—especially considering I didn’t hit my goal of uploading one video per week. I did, however, manage to upload two.

January’s Video Production Work
Beyond my personal content, my video production company, Willie Shaw Films, had a packed month:
🎥 Client Work:
9 total shoots
4 full-length real estate videos for Team Kelli Lang
16 real estate reels
4 reels for a small business content batch shoot
3 reels for my friend's book launch event (Listen to Your Sister)
And all of that while also filming 30 reels for my personal brand. Honestly, I’m impressed with myself.
Brand Deals & What’s Next
No new brand deals this month, but my videos went live with SmallRig on their Holhem smartphone gimbal and have some promising collaborations on the horizon.
February Goals
This month, I’m committing to uploading four YouTube videos. To make that happen, I’ll be sticking to my content system, using YouTube’s scheduler, and simply staying consistent.
I initially thought about doing weekly updates here, but with how busy life is, I might scale it back to one or two posts per month.
Let’s see where February takes us!
